304 GHN304 GHN1958Bristol LS6G ECW C39F Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society Delivered on 1st June 1958 to United Automobile Services Ltd this was one of 5 bought for extended tours and designed to carry 34 passengers in luxury. Between 1958 & 1961 the coach was used on United's prestigious extended week long tours. It was then reseated from 34 recliners to 39 fixed coach seats and used on summertime day trips from Scarborough and occasional long distance service work. In 1971 it was bought by Morris Brothers of Swansea and by 1974 it had moved on to Newquay in Cornwall. We believe that after about 1978 the coach was laid up and never turned a wheel until purchased for preservation by lan Hunter of Leeds, who realised its unique place in the history of United. At some point, it was fitted with a Gardner 6HLW engine. Following a successful Heritage Lottery Fund application by Aycliffe and District Bus Preservation Society the restoration of the vehicle commenced in March 2000 and was completed in 2012. When restoration was almost complete, Arriva North East offered to paint the coach in United's olive green and cream coach livery, to help celebrate the centenary of United, back in 2012. The coach is kept at the premises of the Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society, at Aycliffe Industrial Estate, and is still very comfortable to travel in.

Withdrawn in 1989 and sold on to Jones of Llanfaethlu on Anglesey for further service. Recovered by the 500 Group in 2006, apparently not needing too much work! After an eight year rebuild involving many thousands of hours of work by a dedicated volunteer team and a 5-figure spend, she debuted in preservation at the Stagecoach Stockton Depot Open Day in September 2014. Apart from the Covid interruptions, she has since been a regular presence on the rally circuit.

We showed her in as acquired condition at the Seaburn and Keighley rallies towards at the end of the 2019 season. During early 2020, 223 was given a full external restoration, regaining her iconic green, white and yellow Transit livery, complete with the authentic Part of The Stagecoach Group strapline. R855 PRGR855 PRG1998Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown. Volvo D10H engine with ZF HP400 gearbox. Northern National Restoration Group (Craig Smith) New to Chester le Street in June 1998 4855 was the final member of the second batch of 8 B10BLE that were bought to run the service 21 and morning 734. After 2 years the batch was reallocated to Stanley for use on the service 775 and 778 replacing the popular DAF SB220's. Then in 2008 48 found herself back at Chester LE Street to run the "branded" lime. From there she was withdrawn in 2015, displaced by Wrightbus Streetlite's. The NNRG took delivery of 4855 from Saltmeadows Road bodyshop in September 2015. Restoration started straight away and she was unveiled in her original livery in 2016 as a surprise entry at the North East Bus and Coach Show. 4855 has the distinction of being the first low floor bus that was preserved from Go Northeast in 2015, and has been a popular attraction on the rally field since 2016.

V988 ETNV988 ETN2000Volvo B10BLE Renown Wright bodied Northern National Restoration Group (Craig Smith) Delivered to Go Northern in January 2000 at their now-closed Stanley depot, 4898 saw initial use on the 765/766 between Durham and Consett. Throughout the early 2000s she saw use on the 775/778 services between Sunderland and Consett in addition to the 45 and 46 to Newcastle. In October 2006, 4898 received a lime green base livery, however it was not until March 2007 that Lime route branding vinyls were applied, featuring the tagline; cross country connection. Following the withdrawal of the 775 service and the restructuring of the routes on this corridor, 4898 would see permanent allocation to the 8/78 services between Stanley/Consett and Sunderland for nearly ten years. In 2010, the Lime received updated branding that promoted it as a cycle-friendly service, receiving appropriate refurbishments in order to accommodate bikes in the wheelchair/buggy bay. 4898 survived until the final day of B10BLE operation on the route, Saturday 2nd May 2015 and was subsequently transfered to Gateshead Riverside. A few months later in August 2015, she received the necessary DDA modifications to continue operating in service beyond 1st January 2016. 4898 continued to work here into 2017, although withdrawn from service in September she was reinstated for a short time before finally being withdrawn in October 2017 and was one of the final B10BLEs in the Go North East fleet. In November 2017, 4898 was sold for preservation to Chris Perdy, and after being sold on at least once in a fairly short period, she was acquired by the Northern National Restoration Group in the summer of 2019. Her first public appearance under our ownership was at NELSAM's Trams and Transport Day on Sunday 21st July 2019.

NK54 NVN2004Scania L94UB/Wright Solar Northern National Restoration Group (Craig Smith) 5217 was new to South Shields depot during the week of 14th January 2005. The imminent closure of the South Shields depot on 4th February 2005 saw her transfer to Deptford depot as part of the massive allocation changes. The introduction of the Prince Bishops brand on services 20/20A/X20, operating between Durham and Sunderland, saw 5217 receive a repaint into a purple base livery with the original rendition of the branding applied on top. In late June 2016, 5217 was transferred to Chester-le-Street depot following the entry into service of brand new Wright StreetLites on the Prince Bishops and was repainted into the plain red corporate livery. She saw out her days at Riverside acting as a spare vehicle. 5217 was acquired by the Northern National Restoration Group shortly after 4898 in the Autumn of 2019. 5217 is dedicated to Chris Moyes, an original member of the Board of Directors of the company following the management buyout during the privatization of the National Bus Company.
