The North East Bus & Coach Show at the Metrocentre
The annual NEBPT North East Bus and Coach Show took place at the intu Metrocentre on Monday 4th May. This was a change from the usual day due to another event taking place at the Metrocentre Coach Park on the Sunday. As it happened this proved to be rather fortuitous, as the Sunday was rather damp to put it mildly and Monday was bright and sunny.
This year there were 31 vehicles entered in the event but with a number of late entries, along with an impressive selection of Go North East vehicles thanks to Keith Lee, and vehicles from A-Line Coaches, Arriva, Bells, Glen Valley, Henry Cooper, Kingsley, Perrymans, Scarlet Band, Snaiths, Stagecarriage and Weardale, there were over 60 vehicles present on the day.
This year two free bus service operated with the option of a circular route via Newcastle Business Park or to the Tanfield Railway. Two vehicle making their debut at the event were ex Brighton & Hove East Lancs OmniDekka bodied Scania N94UD 6124, GX03 SUU & Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TL 6118, BG15 RNF in Red Kite livery.

The annual Durham Vintage Bus Gathering took place at Howlands Park and Ride site on Sunday 21st June.
This year there were 17 vehicles entered in the event but with a number of late entries, along with vehicles from Go North East, thanks to Keith Lee, A Line Coaches, Arriva & Scarlet Band, there around 30 vehicles present on the day.

This years Whitley Bay Bus Rally took place on the Links, Whitley Bay opposite Bournemouth Gardens car park on Sunday 21st June.
This year there were 11 vehicles entered in the event but with a number of late entries, along with vehicles from Go North East and The Eden, there were around 20 vehicles present on the day.
Two free bus services operated, firstly to Tynemouth Priory along the seafront and secondly to the Stephenson Railway Museum using vehicles kindly provided by Go North East. Trips were available on the railway which was holding a diesel day.

The annual Seaburn Historic Vehicle Display took place at the Recreation Ground on Monday 31st August.
This year there were 25 buses, 16 commercial vehicles and 76 cars entered in the event, but with a number of late entries there were around 40 buses present on the day. Unfortunately some of the entrants were put off by the weather forecast and the number of cars present was lower than normal.
As usual there was a free bus service operating around the local area.
Keith Lee arranged for the oldest and newest Go North East Double Deckers to attend the event, the oldest being Northern Counties Palatine 2 bodied Volvo Olympian S814 FVK (3814) and the newest Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TL BG15 RNO (6121), these were parked together for the majority of the day
