Former United Automobile Services ECW bodied Bristol Lodekka THN 263F (L263) has been secured for preservation from Belgium by the NEBPT and arrived back in the North East on Friday 13th May.
We are now making a thorough assessment of what work needs to be done and in the short term we hope to make the vehicle mobile and give her a well deserved steam clean.
This fills one of the biggest gaps in bus preservation in the North East.
This vehicle was new to United in 1968 working from Scarborough depot. In May 1971 it was transferred from Scarborough to Darlington, then in 1973 it was part of the NBC/SBG vehicle exchange which saw it move to Western SMT.
With a cost of around £4,500 to buy and repatriate this bus to the North East, NEBPT needs your help.
